and the thing is, I usually roll my own presets and rarely use factory sounds. YMMV of course, but for me, this was a big selling point. Helps that 99% of it is a sweet spotĪnd IMO, this has the best overall factory presets of any U-he synth. The other thing I'm enjoying is how fast it is to get a good sound of this synth.

I've been playing around with the wavetable position using the shape sequencers and function generators, mod matrix curves, etc. It's going to take some experimenting to really unearth the potential - but even just a few minutes of use makes the potential clear. The modulators seem simple on their own, but once you start getting them to interact, some pretty magical stuff starts happening. The new modulation system really opens up the synth. Hive 2 is stupidly good! I had pretty much ignored v1, but v2 is awesome. Ctrl A/B now working correctly in VST3 version.VST3 was reporting only one MIDI channel to the host.Improved sustain pedal behaviour when playing same note repeatedly.Sustain pedal now working according to standard (0-63 = off, 64-127 = on).Improved mouse drag sensitivity for Ctrl A/B selection on MIDI table page.Rare crash when trying to reopen a host project fixed.Strict host sync could cause too early or cut off notes.Modulating clock swing could cause unexpected results.Selecting init preset does not switch folder selection anymore.Compressor parameters smoothed to avoid zipper noise.Newly added presets now easily findable through saved search entry.Modulation overview/unassignment via right-click on parameters.Mod Assigners for visual feedback of assigned modulations.More quantization options in mod matrix.NKS-ready (Previews available as separate download).Upgrade from Hive 1.x: 20€, or free if bought within grace period (after Jan 20th 2019)

Hive 1.x serials won't work, hence all owners of Hive 1.x should check out this PDF which also comes with the download:
#U he hive discount serial#
Being a paid upgrade, it uses a new serial number. Hive 2.x overwrites and replaces Hive 1.x. Want to go even deeper? Many of Hive's factory wavetables are not samples, but ".uhm" files containing scripts written in a proprietary wavetable generation and manipulation language. We just released a pretty substantial update. This feature opens up a second dimension of wavetable scanning, such as velocity crossfade or multisample support. The lower Position knob will crossfade between those 3. For instance, a wavetable with 30 frames can be split into 3 x 10 frames by setting Tables to 3. Wavetables can be split into multiple parts (up to 16), effectively creating a 2-dimensional oscillator. This panel also offers a Reverse option to flip the wavetable back to front, Cyclic mode for seamless wavetable cycling, and various real-time interpolation methods. You can manually select wavetables, modulate the wave position via the matrix, or even scan through them automatically using the envelope and loop options (which let you animate wavetables without the need for an extra modulation source). Hive 2 includes Wavetables! These appear as multiple waveforms, and are controlled in the central hexagon.
